Harbor House Inc. is currently looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor/Recovery Coach. We have positions in Hot Springs, Booneville, and part-time in Texarkana.  Salary depends on experience, education with a range of $33,500-45,000.

Qualifications: Applicants for this position require a high school diploma or G.E.D.; Bachelor degree in human services field preferred.  Previous experience of alcohol and /or drug treatment services is desirable, but not mandatory.  Ability to use a computer is essential, including Electronic Health Record input. Prefer direct lived experience.  Must pass drug screens. Intensive training provided.

Responsibilities: Schedule, conduct, and document individual coaching sessions. Maintain client records to include documentation of progress. Coordinate case management appointments with outside agencies and support staff transport. Complete discharge procedure including documentation, aftercare planning, and check-out. Attend clinical treatment team meetings and Learning Labs. Assist clients to navigate systems to achieve objectives. Maintain availability for clients. Assist client in developing Personal Recovery Action Plan. Assist in screening of prospective clients and admission of clients deemed appropriate for services. Transport clients to outside appointments, if needed. Conduct Family Recovery Sessions as assigned.

Substance Abuse Counselor       Post Date: 7/9/2019


Position: CATAR Clinic is an outpatient Opioid addiction treatment program that utilizes group counseling, medication management and drug screening towards the goal of helping people move towards maintenance & recovery. Our goal is to help lift those suffering from opioid addiction to a healthy life, free from withdrawals and cravings.

FOCUS
The focus in this position requires extensive knowledge of opioid addiction and direct practice in facilitating evidenced based treatment. Counselors are entrusted to maintain their expertise and continually gain knowledge via continuing education and training within the scope of opioid or substance abuse treatment. The counselor is expected to demonstrate expertise in; case management, development of patient resources, counseling, discharge/continuing care planning, and innovation with patient engagement in group counseling. He/she works with the treatment team to plan, coordinate and advocate the patient's movement through their recovery journey.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct group sessions and individual sessions
Orient patients to the treatment program’s operation and procedures.
Establish and build rapport with clients.
Communicating with the treatment team, any issues or feedback and presented within counseling.
Assisting patients in developing measurable chemical dependency related goals and objectives.
Maintain licensure/certification
Providing liaison services between patient and family
Educating client and family on addiction, and maintenance medication treatment related topics
Assessing treatment progress regularly
Recommending individual or family counseling in addition to required monthly counseling as needed, or providing referrals outside of the agency.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
Certification in addiction treatment as a certified or licensed substance abuse counselor.
Experience with facilitating groups and with individual/family counseling.
Willingness to facilitate an open group and maintain cohesion and participation among group members.
Must evidence empathy, compassion, accountability and flexibility and trust among the clients.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.

POSITION
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an occasional Saturday shifts (5:30 am -8:00 am)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Competitive hourly pay will be determined by experience and education. Benefits after 60 days including medical, dental, vision, 401K and paid time off accrual.
